Having now received it, I see that it's a 'Weekend Edition'.  (The 
NSW Government tried to sweeten the pill by declaring a holiday today 
- ironically catching up with "uncompetitive" ACT on holiday-count).

So a possible explanation is that the sudden change of plans to bring 
forward the rather different, multi-section Saturday Edition caught 
Fairfax's production facility out, and they were two hours late 
getting the product out the door.

(I'd considered making some remark about spurious 'blame it on APEC' 
/ scapegoat behaviour, but left it out.  But maybe that's what it 
was).
