What would also be A Wonderful Thing would be archiving the  
presentations themselves. These days it's trivial technically: point  
digital video camera at presenter and screen, top'n'tail the file so  
it starts and ends cleanly, upload to a video file sharing service.

I sometimes wonder whether legacy organisations like conference  
organisers make a mountain out of a molehill with this stuff.

Yes, I do know that they recoup some conference costs by selling  
stuff. This won't be much of a help in the very near future when  
anyone in the audience can just point their camera phone at the stage.  
I've already been doing that with my MacBook Pro's camera and  
Ustream.tv, and it's p*ss easy.
