Most conferences are a formula too, and any competent audio-visual  
company will have established routines for "doing" a conference.

There's a whole essay to be written here about how the initial cost  
and complexity of traditional AV gear meat that "trained  
professionals" were required, which in turn meant that certain  
production values prevailed. There was ONLY the professionals stuff,  
so that's where expectations were set.

However these days the equipment is relatively cheap. and the  
distribution costs tending to zero. The key issue is the salience of  
the material, not whether we have a well-list made-up HDTV picture of  
the presenter's face. So even a recording with flaws is of value to  
the specific audience which wants it.

Um, but enough on that theme for now...
