Along similar lines, 3G mobile Internet + VoIP works fine, though it  
is not as fast as DSL.  I have the 3G modem plugged into a Linux  
gateway and shared out to my home network over Wifi.  3 are only  
charging $39 a month now for 6Gb.  Much cheaper than a phone line + DSL.
