Exacto. If Conroy thinks he has a mandate from the people, then he
can put his money where his non-functioning mouth is.

Make it opt-in and then count how many opt-in in the first year.
If less than a majority of Internet users opt-in, he had no mandate...
and Labor should be held responsible for the waste of money. Perhaps
dock their wages and supers.

Um ... is the gummint going to take legal and moral responsibility
for this censorship? If something gets through to a child that should
not, can the parents take action against the government? If I require
something for my business and the gummint blocks for no good reason,
can I sue for damages?

And if they are not going to assume full responsibility for the filters,
who is? They don't exist in a vacuum. They need maintenance and constant
updating, by 30,000 trained monkey surfers, perhaps.

This schmozzle is yet another example of politics, vote buying
and backroom deals getting in the way of common sense and serving the
needs of WE THE PEOPLE. What ever happened to reason and clear
thinking?
