Well, no, not quite.
I'm not aware of who the current team at Fairfax are, but the lads who  
set up the current system that we see were an extremely up to date and  
standards savvy crew.
Some of the best, really.
What they did have a problem with (and I remember them talking about  
this at a seminar) was the problem of developing a tight, fast  
loading, web standards compliant site that met the management goals of  
3rd party advertising.
This is still a problem now, a few  years later.
