The problem with the current approach is that it does not meet the needs...if a 
child can still see a gay site this may be unacceptable to some, if a child can 
see a site that talks about evolution than this might be unacceptable to some 
and if a child can still gamble and put their images on myspace and youtube then 
it may also be unacceptable.

The parallels with road dangers would be to fence off your garden, not to allow 
kids on the road unsupervised.

Just because the government has spent a lot of money implementing a crappy 
system doesn't mean we have to use it....just look at the Smartcard proposal for 
addressing the unbelievable level of fraud in government processes.
