Brenda,
I use and heartily recommend, Emailchemy, http://www.weirdkid.com/products/emailchemy/
. I use this to manage my email archiving from Mac mail and Outlook to
a single mail folder. Emailchemy allows you to convert between many
popular mail formats.
Just two weeks ago, I needed an attachment from an email I sent over 2
years ago,. I found the mail message in my archive mail folder, which
is formatted as RFC-822 and contains email sen/received using mac
mail and Outlook. I was able to reconvert the mail folder into Mac
mail, import into mac mail and recover the attachment - no problemos
at all.
I can only sing the praises of this program to High-C.
