that all may be true Bernard, but the democrats certainly did choose an 
African American candidate and one assumes that those democrats voted 
for their candidate who is an African American to be their next 
president.  And yes it is an irony for the republicans, but I reckon 
they are simply saying from their perspective it can't get any worse 
than now after 8 disastrous years of the Bush Administration, a war 
America has failed to manage effectively again - shades of vietnam, the 
world's condemnation of them - seeing them for what they really are - 
bullies and ego-maniacs and the sad realisation that the world does not 
revolve around America.

Of course I don't speak about the people of America, I don't know them 
to be the same as those in the Administration.
