I use K3B myself; it's included in SuSE Linux and is an excellent piece of software. But the K3B "New Data CD Project" does create an ISO-9660 file system I believe. I use that format for backups and exchange of large collections of files with users of MS Windows and other O/S, and expect student submissions (mostly directory structures containing PDF, WORD, and other files) in that format.

The solution is to re-partition the memory stick. It can even have both a FAT & Linux partition if necessary, however Microsoft O/S won't recognise the device at all if it has a partition with a non-Microsoft format.

Thanks, I'll make a note of that.
