The Taskforce might like to follow Senator Lundy's lead with the Public
Sphere process, which blends online consultation with old fashioned
meetings. The Senator provided a video about the Public Sphere process
for my e-commerce students at the ANU:

There are some challenges in incorporating blogs, wikis and instant
messaging into government consultation processes. I have set the
students assignment questions asking how to incorporate online
discussions, archive video with metadata and use long term open formats
for academia and government.

ps: Professor Dieter Rombach, Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for
Experimental Software Engineering will talk on "Demand-Driven
E-Government – A European Perspective" at NICTA in Canberra 19 August
2009: <http://cecs.anu.edu.au/seminars/showone.pl?SID=923>.
