A very good point. The terms "downloading is theft" and "copying
is theft" are misleading at best when considered in the legal
context.
The correct term is "downloading is a copyright violation"
or even "downloading is piracy", which applies to copyright law,
not the criminal offense of larceny.
But, hey, why let grandstanding but inappropriate legal threats
stand in the way of an expanding culture of fear and disinformation?
