Senator Conroy said the Government was well aware of the technical
concerns raised by different parties and the pilot would put the
claims to the test.
"The live pilot will provide evidence on the real-world impacts of
ISP content filtering, including for providers and internet users. It
will provide evidence to assist the Government in the implementation
of its policy."

This is the list of ISPs so far:
Primus Telecommunications, TECH 2U, Webshield, OMNIconnect, Netforce
and Highway 1
The only one I've heard of is Primus. How in the world is this even
close to being a valid test?
I can't believe it, but I'm agreeing with Nick Minchin on this one.
"Again we ask the Minister to commit to the independent auditing of
any results to verify their credibility.
"You would suspect that these trials would need to include
Australia's largest ISPs to produce reliable data. "
I don't think it needs to include Telstra, but it sure needs to be
independently audited with the evaluators identified, not just a
bunch of unknown ISPs techos.
Liked this comment on the zdnet article:
Why is the government wasting OUR money on this rubbish when billions
of dollars are needed to rebuild after the devastating bushfires and
to start creating jobs to help our economy? Spend the money on new
fire trucks & equipment, research, anything that actually gives a
benefit, but this is just insane.
I have an idea. Let's shut down Conroy and send the money saved to
the wildfire victims!!

Our truest response to the irrationality of the world is to paint or
sing or write, for only in such response do we find truth.
