Blade Servers Saved My Bum.

We had a maintenance outage yesterday.   We lost one of the blade shelves 
that hosts components of an important application.

No problem - I have another shelf at another location with the other 
blades taking the load.

Horizontal scaling is great and blades are excellent at it!

I have been recommending blades for all our mid-tier applications for 
some time,  but I do not think most people understand what they 
are for and why they exist, when there are bigger, more powerful 
computers around that can do the same job and take up rack space 
and consume resources.
