huh. Must be a safety requirement in the radios themselves to allow 
that. As long as there is power in the car, there would be some sort 
of signal trigger perhaps?

Read that article I posted about the lack of IT attention by 
successive governments and it will make perfect sense. Sadly, Kim 
Carr is hopeless and Conroy even worse, so the future looks bleak.
