Correct.
Many of you would be aware that Chris Gilbey and I are researching P2P
file sharing practices. Specifically the 68% of the Australian
population that would appear to utilise Bittorrent or Emule on a PC
connected to tvu.org.ru with the choice of over 250,000 tv shows.
Many within minutes of being broadcast for the first time in Europe,
America or Australia.
The bandwidth cost per show, prices content, at close to 7 cents per
half hour. But with the benefit of the content being advert free and
often up to a year in advance of channel 7,9,10 etc buying it for local
consumption via FTA.
With a DRM300 connected to the PC - any content on the hardisk can be
accessed by Grandma (my ease of use test) with a remote control and
played back on the nice large Plasma/LCD screen.
I'm not actually sure that digital broadcasting is all that relevant
anymore.
