I did play the ball, but Craig's typically uninformed comments needed clarification.

Anyway, I've no idea which way you are going Jan. First you ask how many community groups have $200K "for such a frivolous expense" and then you say "We could all express an interest, but until price tags are revealed, they are just that, interests."

ICANN have released the fees for applying and this is just a small but significant portion of the cost involved in setting up a TLD. Frankly, if the ICANN fee is going to break your application, the chances of it succeeding were slim to negligible anyway.. Still, there is a debate to be had about the fee and whether it remains as it is we will see.

As for your question about community groups, well, there are groups intending to apply for TLDs for a range of cities and regions around the world with others expressing an interest in musical and sporting interests among others.
