Well.
"I don't listen to 702 but I know it doesn't provide adequate emergency
broadcasting" hardly seems tenable.
During summer, Sydney gets regular updates on non-critical bushfires
(because I do lots of bushwalking, there's plenty of radio-checking all
the time), and 702 breaks into stuff like sports broadcasts if there's
an alert issued.
While around the Southern Tablelands this summer, I heard frequent
updates of fires such as those in the Budawangs.
