Mostly because there is no point, no goal. I think there is a difference
between using Twitter as a tool, and using it socially :)

Agree, and all the nuanced views can be posted or linked to in the blog
comments for pre-reading prior to the event. The idea of Twitter is for on
the day short feedback to content and talks presented. A very basic
community opinion on what is being presented if you will.

Definitely, which makes it easier to actually get your say in, than say a
face to face where the communications is asynchronous and dominated by
particular personality types. This approach I think gets more feedback, and
concise feedback realtime to what is being presented.

I'm not sure Twitter is the right tool for this, but that is the point of
experimenting :)
