Tough. But the distribution medium is a matter of choice, and that  
university has exercised that
choice. Personally, I find it very useful, and fantastic because it  
opens up opportunities that I might not have otherwise entertained.

Sure, it's proprietary: but so many things are, but part of an  
ecosystem that works exceptionally well. For me.
