I'll second that sentiment, with a footnote that I welcome any input from
folk like Roger.

The thing that really annoys me about so many of these topics is that people
in power are just so happy to turn a blind eye to it. Unfortunately, we the
public all too often fuel this way of thinking by not speaking out.

One of the things my system does is detect compromised websites. It does
this via methods which are not duplicated by other bodies and often notifies
people about problems they never realise they have. On the weekend, about 50
emails were sent by the system notifying people of faults in their websites.
1 responded positively. And that one, although extremely grateful, did not
want to assist by speaking out. No one ever does.

Privacy is one of those things which virtually doesn't exist on the
Internet. 90 percent of the systems that filter Viral and other illicit
materials on the net ALSO destroy privacy by following people around. My
system has countless instances of the Content protection systems following
people around on the net, even logging in using their credentials. Yet even
the Help desks of these companies don't realise that their back rooms do it!
It's shocking really. I wouldn't dream of writing something which behaves in
the manner of these programs. Where is the concept of being up front with
people? Perhaps it's just my Australian upbringing, but seriously, these
people have no concept of a "Fair Dink" thing. And don't even get me started
on cookies.

Meanwhile, congrats Roger. I sent a submission on using P3P in. I actually
have P3P as part of the web control systems in my setup. A simple control
system which allows P3P to actually be used. Don't think they understood
what I was talking about though. At least, there's still no Privacy Policy
attached to the policy.gov.au website's cookies still <SFX: Does quick check
that I'm not lying -: Load privacy.gov.au in IE. View->Web Page Privacy
Policy->Summary button. Web page privacy policy cannot be found. Yup. Still
not using it>

<SFX: Steps off soap box and returns to Lurk Mode>
