[LINK] Google search box

Is it just me, or has Google's search box at google.com become much  
larger (styled font, larger size) and the 'Search' button now an image?

Not only that, but in advanced search, you're no longer able to force  
links to open in new windows.

I have discovered that if I set my agent to Firefox or Mobile Safari,  
I get better results (Mobile Safari as an agent offers the original  
layout). Setting the agent to IE of any description loses the image  
button, but the font size and style is still 'LARGE'.

Actually, it seems to be changing by the minute: now the Mobile Safari  
'look' has a silly highlighted black box around the search field, and  
offers a broken image link (perhaps the search icon?) alongside the  
standard 'search' submit button.

What is everyone else seeing?

Has the world gone mad? (and ugly)
