Afternoon linkers

This email is about a singer I have discovered - probably a slow learner
in this regard - and I am so impressed by her that I wanted to share my
discovery with you.

Her name is Sissel (www.sissel.net), she's Norwegian and been around for
around 20 years or so, but hasn't surfaced downunder as far as I know.
Her repetoire extends from folk through spiritual to classical. She is
probably known in the non-classical world because she did the non-verbal
singing on the soundtrack to the movie Titanic.

Below is a list of the youtube clips, amongst many, that have won me over.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQKQdwowbok O Mio Babbino Caro
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl3F3TjNf-A a duet with Placido Domingo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=selrkcvErG8 same song Mascagni's Ave
Maria solo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-Hw1hEFWBA You needed Me in Norwegian(?)

I commend her singing to those who appreciate this genre and are in need
of respite and restoration :)

cheers
brenda
