Separation and Aggregation of similar waste is also an
issue...hence, those selling new TVs should take the old
ones, especially as they are receiving a windfall from the
Compulsory switch to Digital Broadcasting.
With regard to exporting our E-waste, I understand that the
way we get away with exporting our hazardous waste, is that
the waste is shipped as electronic goods possibly for reuse.
However, the problem with reuse is the energy use of old
equipment, which means it generates excessive Greenhouse Gas
Emissions, which the US Government recently declared a
health issue.
