     ABSTRACT:
     The Go Programming Language presented by Nigel Tao, Software
Engineer. Go is a compiled, garbage-collected, concurrent programming
language developed by Google Inc. Go was officially announced in
November 2009, with implementations released for the Linux and Mac OS X
platforms.

     Designing for the Mobile Web presented by James McGill, Software
Engineer. Rich (Javascript) web applications face a challenge in
remaining performant when accessed on mobile devices, such as Android or
iPhone handsets. This talk includes a discussion of the challenges
facing mobile web developers, and covers various methods for increasing
mobile web application performance, based on the experiences of the
Google Maps API team in designing version 3 of the Google Maps API.

     Who: This talk is of interest to the entire school, students
(UGrad, PGrad) & faculty alike.
