My point precisely

If the hype machine and fan base had been as well developed at the time 
as they are now, Apple would have sold far more Newtons and Lisas. Swap 
the iPad hardware and software for those of the much-maligned JooJoo 
and, with the power of Apple behind it, it would still sell.
