That's what happens when you remove teaching from the education process.

Students learn best when they are taught. Take teachers out of the 
process and you get a much less than optimal outcome.

There is no reason why the students' needs can't come first. But 
teachers are better suited to do that than students. Students are ignorant.

Just because some teachers and schools don't put students' needs first 
doesn't mean you get rid of teachers and schools.
