Jan,
The fibre will have "PSTN emulation" - ie, you'll get PSTN services over
the fibre instead of the copper.
To maintain a phone connection, post-NBN, the customer will need to
connect to the fibre. But the PSTN emulation means a PSTN telephone will
plug into a suitable port on the box that terminates the fibre.
