I read somewhere today that Google and Facebook were the 'vanguard' of the new model of cloud computing: scant regard to privacy, and a world view that assumes no borders of any kind (or walls, barriers, etc). In the same article, Apple were placed at the opposite end of the spectrum, with a different and 'more-traditional' approach (can't find it now, but will go hunting).
