Not only that, but she has to communicate with people who ALSO have either no access to e-mail or the internet generally. They are most often teachers, too...

On top of that, I've just returned from the outback where the internet is stuff of dreams, and station owners and even hoteliers all rely implicitly on fax and phone (and land lines aren't that reliable for them, too).

It's all well and good for us with a good ADSL and a computer at hand, etc, but there is Another World out there.
