For over a decade now the non-profit organisation Computing Assistance
Support & Education (CASE) has proven that by working together and
staying committed to best practices in Information Technology that we
can make a significant difference in the effectiveness of those
providing community services. It's incredibly rewarding work and it
appears that we are quite unique in Australia.
We do a great deal of varied projects from on site technical support,
technical advocacy on national panels, development of custom databases
for indigenous groups and services like CommunityLists
(http://www.communitylists.org.au). You just never know what members
will come up with next which keeps our work exciting and challenging.
Over the last few years CASE has been managed by just three people
volunteering their time. While they are happy to continue, the
organisation is growing and the demand for services is much greater than
the current resources could ever meet.
Each year we ask for people to consider joining our Management Committee
and to help us in making our community a better place. But as we all
know, there simply isn't enough talent to go around. Many community
groups are now operating with reduced numbers on their boards of
management and it's becoming harder and harder to attract those willing
to make a difference.
If you have management and/or financial experience and a passion for
using technology to improve the delivery of services to those living
with disadvantage, please consider contributing to CASE this year by
joining our Management Committee.
Working with CASE provides an amazing return on investment because your
skills and talents will benefit dozens of effective organisations at
once while simultaneously having a positive effect on thousands of
Australians.
Specifically we are looking for a Treasurer, Secretary and at least two
new General Committee Members.
Give it some thought and contact us at info at case.org.au if you are
interested in helping out.
Spread the word and help us build a better CASE for the community.
Thanks.
