when i see stuff like this, it becomes quite difficult to dismiss
as overblown hyperbolic caricature the imagery of evil corporate
overlords *deliberately* plotting the end of the world for their own
amusement.
like, it IS just hyperbole? right? isn't it? James Bond type villains
are too absurd to be real...aren't they?
this can't be just explained away as the result of idiocy or ignorance
or even the profit motive (it's easily possible to be just as profitable
without making cars so insanely wasteful and inefficient).
and it's not "consumer demand" because consumers, by and large, "demand"
whatever marketing people tell them to demand.
so WTF *are* they thinking?
