[LINK] RFI: Cross-Media Publishing under Linux/OO

I think you can separate the publishing and the underlying OS.  Move
your publishing to a multiplatform application.  I don't see why
replacing MS Office with LibreOffice would change your process much.
You can still save as rtf.  You can probably import your styles into
LibreOffice without much change.  LOwrite is very stable, especially
for books, much easier to use for books than MSOff.

Seriously you could learn TeX.  I always meant to.  All of that
converting stuff you get just about for free in TeX.  Of course the
editing is a trifle trickier although they tell me there are wysiwyg
TeX editors these days.

You could always start the OS conversion with a virtual system running
in your current system.
