Yes, while the makers of IP desk phones promote ones with fancy screens 
and high prices in their ads, the also sell which which just have a 
keypad and no screen.

As an example the CISCO Model 7965G IP Phone costs several as much as 
the Cisco 500 Series 1-Line IP Phone. The cheaper phone has no screen 
and just a numeric keypad. If all you want to do is dial a number to 
make a call, the simpler phone is as good as and perhaps better, than 
the fancy model.

ps: My Huawei Deuce U8520 Dual SIM Android Smart Phone has not proved to 
be very smart. It kept rebooting itself. I gave it back to Allphones 
several weeks ago to be fixed and have not seen it since:
