[LINK] Tony Barry Function 25 Feb

Hi Linkers

 

You will have seen Tony's 19 Jan post on 'Maintaining the LINK list'. A few
of us feel that, in spite of Tony's premature decision to hand on the LINK
baton at the young age of 70, after only 17 years of establishing and
running the list, we should give him a good thank you, and celebrate his
70th.

 

So, you are all invited to get together with Tony on Friday 25 February:

.         Where: Fellows Cafe/Garden, ANU University House, Balmain
Crescent, Acton ACT 2601 (Phone: 02 6125 5211)

.         When: Table booked from 5pm (area gets busy after 5.30pm, so some
merit in arriving early, as I am sure Tony and some others will)

.         Until: Whenever - the idea is for an informal gathering for a few
drinks, followed by a meal for those who can stay on (food service stops at
8pm)

 

I hope those of you who are in, or within easy reach of Canberra can make it
on the 25th. Tony deserves  our good wishes and thanks for a job well done
for so long. Apart from a chance to catch up with some people you may not
have seen for a while, and reminisce, it will also give us a chance to
discuss what you would like to do next with LINK.

 

If you are intending to come and stay for a meal, please will you let me
know directly not later than Monday 21 February so that I can let University
House know the numbers for food.
