Much of the building machinery requires major overhaul, and there is a huge backlog due to the number of buildings requiring either total refits, or repair, and inspection.

QUT is in the CBD - I heard a story that the Brisbane CBD is
located at the confluence of two streams.

UQ is in Saint Lucia. I heard references to flooding,
inundation, storm (or whatever it is called) in relation to
Saint Lucia.

I don't know but would guess that UQ probably didn't sustain
serious damage, as Institutions are usually better informed
about their investments than the general public. Sporting
fields, grounds and the odd car park have no doubt been soaked.

In Sydney, where we regularly have flash flooding from
storms, some flood/storm/sea level modeling has been done
(or at least paid for through a council levy). This is a
Civil Engineering speciality and any similar studies in
Queensland will no doubt be the subject of the enquiry
and new town planning agency.
