Despite the High Australian Dollar the direct replacement lamps seem to be
very highly priced. Over the weekend a 2 pin replacement was priced in a
sydney store at AUD30 while..Amazon has similar products at around USD12
(where halogen lamp is USD2).

A low lumens edison screw lamp was $30 last december and that store has a
$20 version. An Australian high lumens globe is expected to retail at $60
with similar product on Amazon at just USD 42 globe.

International standardisation should help with the cost.

Given the even longer life of the LEDs and different lighting and heat
