I'd suggest disabling your Google call-home Scheduled Tasks; one at login,
then, daily at different times. Eg, for this stand alone Win XP system ..

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks

Then right click for 'properties' for each of your (probably) four Google
call-home tasks that Google somehow secretly loads there, and then select
'disable'. I certainly would not worry about any dire consequences Google
claims. Certainly nothing bad has happened, and i have current and active
antiviral protection. And I sure don't like Google scheduling my machine.

I presume these 'scheduled' Google tasks allow for personalization of my
web experience. I say, nick off, google. Also, if you delete these tasks
google somehow just set them again. I don't hate Google, and have google
set as my browser start-up page, but, I also think they go waaay too far.

Cheers,
Stephen
