Nope. Waste is using a resource for "no real benefit" when that resource
is irreplaceable or the effects of using it are adverse.

The sun that hits my PV array generates a certain amount of power
*regardless* of what I do with it. If I am generating a surplus (over
the year, not just at any instant) then I can "waste" that excess
however I like - it is a "free" resource. Given that PV panels break
even energy-wise after about three to five years of generation, the
power is doubly free after that time.
