[LINK] Latency across Australia & to Europe....

Hi Martin,
It is Virgin Broadband over the Optus 3G Network. The light
on the dongle was dark blue, indicating good 3G reception,
at the Perth location (this is not the experience in parts
of inner city Canberra).
If cost is not an issue - I understand, Telstra is the way
to go on 3G Broadband in Australia on both coverage and
performance.
However, as Richard pointed out the routing plays a part and
it seems the website on a Telstra link performed less well.
If you are still in Europe, it would be interesting to know
what the hops are to uwa.edu.au or ecu.edu.au (assuming
these are hosted in Perth) vs syd.edu.au or uts.edu.au
(assuming these are hosted in Sydney) - or doesn't it matter
because of AARNET?
