They (state/federal parliaments) have a policy that "The material
shall not be used for:
the purpose of satire or ridicule;
advertising for or by political parties or electioneering;
commercial advertising or sponsorship"
And sometimes they still oppose openness using arcane laws contrary to
the supposed Right to Know philosophy of the political parties in
power: http://www.openaustraliafoundation.org.au/2009/08/07/queensland-bars-openaustralia-from-republishing-its-hansard/
"Most significantly, I am concerned about an alternative
“non-official” site upon which lays the Queensland Parliaments
official Record of Proceedings but which no-one in authority within
the Parliamentary Service has control."
Control, eh?
