More Grist for the archivist mill as he... tentatively pushes forward
his latest tidbit...

I find it fascinating that as the science expands it's knowledge,
Government Departments like NASA can flip their positions 180 degrees
and that the resulting flip is unnoticed by the mainstream media.

Nasa issued an announcement on March 22 this year that "Solar Storm
Dumps Gigawatts into Earth's Upper Atmosphere"

"A recent flurry of eruptions on the sun did more than spark pretty
auroras around the poles. NASA-funded researchers say the solar storms
of March 8th through 10th dumped enough energy in Earth's upper
atmosphere to power every residence in New York City for two years.

"This was the biggest dose of heat we've received from a solar storm
since 2005," says Martin Mlynczak of NASA Langley Research Center. "It
was a big event, and shows how solar activity can directly affect our
planet." "

The accompanying graph

Showed that CO2 grew with the Nitrogen Oxygen levels demonstrating an
environmental effect resulting directly from solar storms rather than a
dependency on pollution levels.

When combined with their 2003 statement
http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2003/29dec_magnetic
field/ (updated:April 6, 2011) wherein they state unequivocally that:

"planetary magnetic field, and it still protects us from space radiation
and solar storms."
And... "globally the magnetic field has weakened 10% since the 19th
century"

The conclusions from the NASA updates that one might reach would be that
as the magnetic field weakens, we are more susceptible to weird weather
(and temperature increases) from solar activity.

Again, this does not address particulate emission controls, just the
Global Warming issues.

Next, NASA will be telling us that the position of Planets directly
influence solar winds and ionisation wave patterns and that amazingly
these affect our magnetic forcefield and cause earthquakes. Mind you, I
guess first they would have to start calculating angles and orbit
periods... (Others would call that the abandoned science of
Astrology...). Boy we live in interesting times.
