For imports via normal post/airmail there is no taxes or duty
collected if the total value is below $1000.
FedEx and UPS do collect GST and duty (where applicable) for lower
value imports. I think they will collect if the tax/duty is over $50.
They will then also charge an administration charge.
Since the post office is pretty honest and reliable here, and the
FedEx and UPS rates are extortionate, even without the customs
charges, it is nuts to use them.
