So true. I once defined Cloud Computing as "the fine art of separating
people from their software". I´ll have to rewrite that to "separating
people from their data".
What you don´t get is the management mindset, by outsourcing the
service, they´re outsourcing the problem. If email goes down, it won´t
be Telstra´s problem, it will be Microsoft´s -or so they think,
surely-. If things get hacked, it´ll be Microsoft´s legal
responsability, not Telstra´s. I´m not implying they know nothing
about IT security, no.
