Thanks Irene. My eyes ignored the small print below the entry box and
only noticed the sudden lack of the "enter a URL to translate"
separate entry box.

I bet Google did it for own good, as usual.

Also notice that once you click on a translated string ie
http://translate.google.com/#auto|fr|less%20than%2015%20seconds%0A
that text is gone. So looking at the above URL you jump to the
conclusion that there is no option to translate a URL.
