I just accessed wikipedia to see how they handled this so-called
protest. I can see no difference. There is a line at the top that
says it is currently locked, but what does that mean? I arbitrarily
clicked on portal links and they were returned.

I used search and it worked. Clicked a result and it came up, too.

????

Ah, an explanation:

You can also view Wikipedia normally by disabling JavaScript in your
browser, ...

Since that is my normal starting point, I'm seeing no difference in
performance. Mystery solved.

Our truest response to the irrationality of the world is to paint or
sing or write, for only in such response do we find truth.
