I have found many entries for my grandparents and parents and even mentions of myself as a child much to my complete surprise.

I have memories of being driven to Collaroy beach when I was four (1945) when staying with my great aunt and uncles place early one morning to check their shop on Collaroy beach after a storm (first pharmacy north of Manly). The waves had washed over the beach and across Pittwater road leaving seaweed there way past the beach. Their shop was badly undermined and houses to the north were swept away and still, to this day, never replaced. Recently on trove I was flabbergasted to find that my second wife and her parents had been in one of the houses lost to the sea. Perhaps we had met as children on the beach rather than later in Canberra about 1966. I got to correct the errors in the OCR transcription which to me are important, and to most people irrelevant, but to my descendants no doubt of interest. My eldest son at 49 still plays rugby for the Collaroy golden oldies.

Tony
