Idling around, trying to avoid my rightful chores on a beautiful Sunday
afternoon, I came across <http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13390>. A
trivial application perhaps, but of remarkable technology.

The MindWave headset retails for less than $100 in the US
<http://store.neurosky.com/products/mindwave-1>, though it's remarkably
more expensive in Australia
<http://www.biofeedback.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=152&category_id=7&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53>.

Emotiv Lifesciences retails a more substantial headset for about three
times the price of the MindWave
<http://www.emotivlifesciences.com/?page_id=43>, though it does give the
wearer something of a Borg look
<http://www.emotivlifesciences.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/slide3.jpg>.
There's a video on YouTube
<http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fVhggGSjXVg>
which, unfortunately, I don't have the bandwidth to watch.

Now if only the technology could be run in reverse, to project the
display directly into my visual cortex so my failing eyesight won't be
an issue. Not needing a monitor would also free up desk space. :)

                                | scientist states that something is

                                | right. When he states that
                                | something is impossible, he is
                                | very probably wrong.
