Depends on who the company doing both is... if it happens to be the same
company and they are guilty of tampering, financial lobbying, then most
certainly both must be equally tainted and treated with deep suspicion.

> But to say flat-out that consuming GM foods is unhealthy goes against all of the established research that I've seen. And as Bowditch said ... Adams has a name for sensationalising and obfuscating unlikely research papers in contrast to the serious science.
Then either you obviously don't know how to use Google or have no
interest in researching the other side of the story. ( I think in the
Newspaper industry it's called "selling newspaper advertising space".
Outside of that industry it's called delusional self editing.)

Cherry picking my A....! That appears to be your standard number one
refrain when at a loss for real facts - Gee Tom you're cherry picking
again... introducing doubt in the mind of readers.
Well sir, unfortunately Link for the most part is constituted of
individuals with IQ's over 105 and your techniques developed over many
centuries of journalistic evolution, probably don't have the same
negative connotation association as with the readability index of say 12
year olds, (the average age of people who still believe what journalists
write).
Unfortunately Mr. O'Connor, I think you fail to understand exactly what
a GMO actually is.
Rather than quote reams of academic references (most of which prove
direct connection between GMO's and Cancer - [Chapela, Snow, Traavik,
Rosi-Marshal, Carman, Carrasco, Ermakova and I have already mentioned
Pusztai]), I'll put my reasons for lumping GMO's and HG's into the same
basket into simple English so that even a twelve year old can understand
the implications.
A GMO food organism pretending to be human consumable food is akin to a
Facsimile pretending to be an email and everyone telling you - but it is
just as good as an email... it just needs a proprietary delivery and
receiving system.
Therein lies the problem. The receiving system.
Vis:
GMO's are constructed by artificially altering the DNA of the intended
GMO. (Genetically Modified Orgasnism).
Up until the mid nineties, when people ate (e.g.) carrots, their
biological computers recognised the incoming DNA chain and filed the
proteins appropriately. After all , Humanity has been eating carrots for
around 500,000 years therefore our DNA and that of Carrots are fairly
well acquainted and the handling protocols well established.
Today however, almost 8% of the carrot has a new instruction set that in
no way resembles anything that our biological computers are familiar
with - therefore to handle the new engineering protocols our bodies are
altering to suit the new programming.
I don't believe I gave Monsanto permission to reprogram my genetic code.
Do Growth Hormones change our bodies - yes.
Do GMO's alter our biological programming by shunting proteins into
(possibly) cancer receptive cells ? Yes. ALL THE RATS DIED!!!
Are GMO's and GH's equally as dangerous as each other ?
Obviously. Why ?
Because they both encourage uncoordinated, and un-researched cellular
growth that empirically appears to favour those cells with (dormant ?)
mutating cancers.
In closing, as to why more scientists are not talking about this publicly;
Quote:/
New Zealand Parliament member Sue Kedgley told a Royal Commission in
2001: "Personally I have been contacted by telephone and e-mail by a
number of scientists who have serious concerns about aspects of the
research that is taking place ... and the increasingly close ties that
are developing between science and commerce, but who are convinced that
if they express these fears publicly ... or even if they asked the
awkward and difficult questions, they will be eased out of their
institution."

And if you keep telling me I'm a wrong on the subject, my emails will
escalate with the names of the Governments and countries that have
banned GMO GH products.
