I got a letter, and then later a phone call, from Bendigo.

They are adamant that paypass is mandatory, it is not an option. the
person i spoke to said it had been decided "at the highest executive
level". she didn't say if that was because Mastercard and/or Visa
required it of them or if it was their own decision.

she stated that it was the bank's official position and wouldn't be
changing.

i said that my official position was that I've lodged a complaint with
the FOS and if I don't receive a satisfactory outcome, I would be
looking for a bank that can give me a non-RFID card.
